A message from Mr South:

Dennis was so keen to pass on the latest news of Grunty Fen when I used to visit him each Sunday for Radio Cambridgeshire that we seldom had time to talk about the past.

We heard all about his Gran, Woolly Woollard, George Robinson, the hateful Rev Quintin 'Stoopid' Partridge and the even more hateful Mrs Jeffreys, but know little or nothing about those who came before them.

That is why I made a special effort in this unique and historic recording to get Dennis to unveil the Fen Tigers of yesteryear.

So here are the first four he happened to think of - the wettest clergyman known to mankind, the clippie, the inventor and the railway's memory man. Here, too, are six songs to complement their stories.
