Card - Christmas Thread

Another great John Holder illustration, the front cover of this Christmas card shows Dennis threading a needle - and there's actual thread coming through the eye of the needle! Inside, there's a card of No. 35 Best Quality Linen Thread (originally priced 3d) by Wm Barbour and Sons Ltd., Lisburn, N Ireland.

Inside the card reads: 'A contented Christmas from all at Grunty Fen. May Dennis keep you in stitches and may you never lose the thread.'

Measures 5¾" by 4".

Complete with envelope.

PLEASE NOTE that because of the conditions under which these have been stored (Mr South's shed), some of the colour from the card of thread may have stained the inside of the Christmas card slightly. Also, the odd tiny insect might have got in and crawled across the thread (we don't know for sure, but they might have) and so although you can use the thread, we strongly advise you not to lick it or put it anywhere near your mouth. If you do so, it is entirely at your own risk and no-one associated with Mr South, Miss Edwards or Grunty Fennery will a) be held responsible for any consequences or b) sympathise.
