Best of Dennis Vol 3

Starting at: £6.50

A message from Mr South:

'Is it true?' they ask. 'Is it really like that?' These questions follow me everywhere since first I met Dennis of Grunty Fen and played my small role in bringing him to a wider audience on the wireless. 'Is his world of contentment amid squalor real?' you want to know.

In answer, I invite you to journey with me through that tangled network of muddy tracks where Dennis led me long ago. There, far beyond the uttermost ring road of our cities, far from the world of fitted kitchens and foreign holidays, there lies a sort of grubby Eden inhabited by Dennis, his Granny and their curious acquaintances.

Hear his songs. Study these stories he told to me between 1898 and 1990. Come to your own conclusions. Where does reality lie? In his life or yours?

Christopher South

This compilation features a wide variety of subjects involving Mr South in the privy, S-shaped rhubarb, horrible tea, warts, sinks, pianos and fourteen stone of Bramleys. It's also the first time that Dennis tells Mr South about Maudie Deeks and why Gran wasn't too pleased. Plus there are four of Dennis's songs including the beautiful Queen Adelaide Waltz and the famous Rhubarb March.

Running time: 79 mins.

NOTE: This is the full album, available as a CD or as a download.
