This collection comes from 1993.

Dennis has something on his mind. What’s in the Mystery Sink Tidy? We get a glimpse into the practices up the Post Office, such as what’s delivered to the allotments. But is Dennis fast enough? And why isn’t Maudie talking to him?

Why is Dennis tired? What’s the longest week? Mr South is trying to educate Dennis about the Stonehenge, but Dennis seems preoccupied with the mortality of everything. He sees a sign at the Solstice, but what does he glean from it? Mr South is astonished, and decides to make notes. Why did Dennis’s mum lock herself in the privy, and how did she cause confusion for Gran and Dennis?

Mr South congratulates Dennis on a having a clear out, but Dennis tells Mr South he’ll have to wait. Why is it hard getting the eyes right? What’s the Goat Sanctuary got to do with things? What’s Maudie going to contribute? And what’s wrong with the Elvis Presley wall mirror?

Dennis and Gran have a touch of the glooms. Why did he get up in the middle of the night, and what did he do after he got up? Why did he need the universal shovel?

Dennis is back from the Cheddar Gorge – or is he? Why does the blackbird give out a warning sound? Dennis has sent Mr South some postcards, but where’s he actually been? Why are there lines all over the Cotswolds? Mr South sounds at the end of his tether.
